Registered Massage Therapy
RMTs are dedicated to treating your symptoms of pain and dysfunction, including the underlying causes.
It is widely understood that massage therapy decreases stress and helps control pain. Perhaps less known is the effectiveness of massage therapy in treating deeper structures of the body such as ligaments, bones and joints, fascia, blood vessels, organs and other soft tissues of the body.
BC's Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are among the most educated and highly trained professionals in their field.
Standard educational requirements include comprehensive studies in health sciences such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology and neuroanatomy.

Julia Vanderryst

Space is held to help you reconnect back to your body whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, need a moment of self care or working through a new or long standing injury.
Julia’s long history of sports such as gymnastics, softball, soccer and field hockey gave her a great understanding of her own body and wellness that she wanted to find a deeper understanding of the human body and help others discover their own path.
As a massage therapist she encourages her clients to build and grow a positive relationship with their own bodies and explore ways to support themselves with remedial exercises and self care between visits to ensure they feel good for longer.
Techniques included in her practice are Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, stretching and myofascial release. Trauma informed care is something she’s currently exploring as well as Craniosacral.
Note from therapist: Pressure is subjective and unique for everyone and the concept of what one may consider deep tissue massage varies from one person to another. With this in mind, I would like to make note that I don’t consider my practice to be a deep tissue style. If you are looking for a more traditional deep tissue treatment, I am happy to help find a good fit for your specific goals and needs with the right therapist at The Treatment Room.
